SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOLS
Selective High Schools are specialised High Schools, catering for the specific needs of highly achieving and gifted students, who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic and social level.
Selective High Schools help gifted and talented students to learn by grouping them with other similarly gifted and talented students; teaching them in specialised ways and providing educational materials at the appropriate level.
Selective High Schools are unzoned. Therefore, parents can apply regardless of where they live.
The Year 7 placements into the Selective High Schools is administered by The High Performing Students Unit.
